About Baris Boyraz, MD, PhD
Dr. Boyraz received both his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Hacettepe University (Ankara, Turkey) in 2017. During his Ph.D. studies, he spent two years at Boston Children's Hospital / Harvard Medical School as a visiting graduate student. Subsequently, he completed two years of postdoctoral training at The Rockefeller University (2017-2019). Following his post-doctorate time in New York City, he returned to Boston where he completed a residency in Anatomic Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) / Harvard Medical School (2019-2022), where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He obtained his Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology in 2022. He was then a Graduate Assistant in Surgical Pathology specializing in breast and gynecologic pathology at MGH, where he had primary sign out responsibility of clinical cases and participated in the department's high volume and uniquely educational consultation practice.
Dr. Boyraz is a highly qualified pathologist with expertise in both breast and gynecologic pathology and is an asset to our institution's clinical care teams in those subspecialty areas of practice. He is also an outstanding physician scientist with interests in molecular and translational pathology. He has a very broad morphologic knowledge base that is accompanied by an innate ability to translate his findings into scientific publications as well as into diagnostic practice.
